Magus

yay! my first sculpture of mah character, Magus! I'll post a better picture with some detail shots once I can get my digital camera to cooperate. This is the largest polymer clay sculpture I've made, standing at about 7 or 8 inches tall. This was also the MOST DIFFICULT polymer clay sculpture I've ever made. I can point out a bunch of mistakes with it, but considering the amount of hell I went through trying to make this (which includes, but is not limited to: having to bake the bloody thing about 5 times, having to superglue falling parts back on while desperately trying to NOT glue my fingers together because I did NOT want to have to go to CVS for nail polish remover with my fingers stuck together....AGAIN! trying to design clothes so that I could put them onto a figure that couldn't move it's limbs or be removed from it's base, decimating my one and only piece of precious black cotton velvet, and burning my fingers multiple times with the hot glue gun in my efforts to get him decently dressed) I'd say it turned out pretty durned good. Figure is multiple brands of polymer clay, mostly sculpey. Painting with acrylics (including the wonderful stuff known as "interference paint" for the feathers.) A glass marble was used for the orb of his staff. His clothes consist of some random grey stuff I found in the remnants bin at Wal-Mart, some brown-swede-ribbon-lace-stuff-thatidon't knowthenameof for his belt, black velvet for his robes, and purple ribbon for the trim.
